Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on the part of Montreal that is known as the West Island. The West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar of its purpose. Many people believe that it is an island west of Montreal, but it's actually the West Island encompasses everything between the cities in Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel's hometown is often referenced, however her brief stay was not. Brugel was a woman of a certain age living in Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. Her first ambition was to be an expert dancer. However, a growth increase caused her to surpass every dance partner she had. She admitted in an article written by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. After I outgrew the male dancers, I decided to quit. The Brugel is one of the former dancers who shifted to acting. Her teacher from high school encouraged her in the right direction. She was recommended by a teacher to find a role in school's annual production. The teacher who suggested she take on a part in the school's annual production. This led to a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program which she graduated with the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Her career spans twenty years, and she's been in over 60 productions that have screened on large screens and smaller ones. The most well-known role she played was that of Rita (pictured below) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actress in the season 1 which was viewed only on occasion.
